Genius Gallery
Genius Gallery
The initiative was started by FrankFranco Architects following an effort to source original art work to place in our completed architectural projects.
In our search to source unique pieces, we began establishing strong relationships with up and coming artists, which gave us greater access to genius works of art. The criteria is simple; we look for work that inspires us to create, or has the potential to become a pivotal moment in our architectural projects. That’s it.
Without a brick and mortar store, Genius Gallery takes a pop-up approach, finding unique environments to exhibit the artist’s work. This benefits the artist with exposure to new communities, while keeping overhead costs low.
The first exhibit featured the works for Kristofir Dean at Marianetti Motors. The space was an ideal environment offering a minimalist white backdrop for the artist’s colour popping artwork. KRISTOFIR DEAN is a painter based in Hamilton, Ontario. He holds a BFA from Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU) and has shown his work internationally. He is currently represented by Ian Tan Gallery in Vancouver, and Newzones in Calgary. Kristofir’s paintings create optical effects using light and shadow, perspective, and inventive panel shapes that make viewers question their sense of the works’ dimensionality. His art activates a conversation about the quality and value of saturated colours to captivate and lift the energy of a space and the people who inhabit it. Keep an eye out for our exhibit dates and take advantage of the work we’ve assembled before another Genius acquires it!
